My Bio
Nicholas Shaw lives in Sydney with his girlfriend of 5 years, and their Standard Schnauzer, Archer.
In his free time he likes to write and letter comics. Nic is currently writer/editor/journalist/mail room guy for shawlettering.com; One of wordpress.com's quickest growing comic blogs (it's views are now reaching the heights of the creators mother).
Before working in comic retail and creating Shaw Lettering, Nic spent a long time job hopping, trying to discover which career path was best for him. Stripping, being a clown, and doing both at the same time didn't work out.
Currently Mr. Shaw is working on a comic with Luke Parker of futureparker.com (future-parker.deviantart.com/). It will probably be the best thing you will ever read. Ever.

He's also trying to letter comics. He tries his best. Good lad. So if you want your webcomic, or new independent book lettered Hey, he might just be your guy, give him a call why not?

Make sure to jump onto shawlettering.com/ to get any and all info on hiring Nic as your letterer!

So! Pages 1 - 8 of my book 'Hammer' are finished, now Luke and I are working on our pitch. Shouldn't be too much longer and our book will be on comic stands everywhere! (fingers crossed) I'm working on a bunch of things right now. Which is nice. I don't mind keeping busy. Currently I'm lettering two anthologies, several pitches, and working on some of my own scripts. All while working two jobs and trying to write reviews for my blog ... Like I said ... I don't mind keeping busy. It's crazy watching my ideas be put to paper and to think that I'm starting on the path that I've been thinking about since I was 10. I was never the type

Review – Iron Man #1 Iron Man #1 is the first title from the Marvel NOW relaunch that proves that not everything needs a reboot. There isn't anything new here; at least nothing that hasn't been done before, and done better. If Marvel wanted to relaunch with new creative teams, new stories, and new ideas, then why are we getting a rehash of old stories told in an inferior way? This first issue revolves heavily around the Extremis Virus, which is rumoured to play a role in the fast approaching Iron Man 3 film. While Extremis is a fun idea, it's been done before and it just feels like its being rehashed here. Kieron Gillen's ability to balance

So that's about it really! I have several scripts that I'm trying to bang out. I'd love to find some artists to help me out with character sketches, tone, and layout. Each book has a very different feel, and each has the potential to what I think could be a great story. I just need some help getting there! So definitely get in contact with me if your interested in creating some work with an easy going, new writer! Also I'm playing way too much Guild Wars 2 at the moment. -Nic
